2019 These Were Solid Too List
First of three part series of 2019 albums/mixtapes/eps I thought were dope.
Last year I made the same type of lists but nobody ever saw it so before we get started, let’s sit down and explain how this shit works. None of these lists have a set number to them cause I’m not tryna force myself to fit projects into categories and have this discombobulated mess of shit. In five years, I’m not tryna look back at a personal top ten list and think, “wtf was I doing put that shit in at 9???”
These Were Solid Too - Projects I enjoyed and can spin the majority of them with no issue. Nothing about them is shit I’m gonna break down to my kids as the most influential shit I’ve ever heard but if these come on shuffle, I’m not mad either.
Honorable Mentions - Projects I spun more than the last list that had some potential to get into the upper echelon. The music here was some shit I might’ve spun a ton but I couldn’t think of anything incredibly special in them. I can find runs on these albums I really enjoyed or some approach the artist took interesting but these aren’t the projects that will define my 2019.
Top Albums -Projects I found extremely memorable. These joints are the ones I can sit and talk shop about for hours. Pushed boundaries in some area that I found important or got a ridiculous amount of spins. A lot of shit here really hit me hard and has some sort of significant impact in my life or they were just THAT good.
